Back-Roads are rightfully excited about their 9 Day Royal Tour of Britain itinerary.

When your itinerary has been tailor-made by your Tour Leader, who has also previously worked for the Queen and Royal Family as a guard in the Royal Protection, you know you are getting both insider and expert knowledge of British history and the Royal residences you will visit.

Windsor Castle

Tour Leader, David Lombardi, has ensured the Royal Tour of Britain itinerary features visits to the iconic Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Edinburgh Castle among many more Royal residences and cathedrals. Almost all of the landmarks you will visit as you weave through Britain’s picturesque back roads from Edinburgh to London are either royal residences or have a historic connection to the Royal Family, both in bygone eras and in current times. David will fill you in on noteworthy historic moments laced with a few inside stories and entertaining anecdotes along the journey.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Starting in Edinburgh you will head north to Ballater, visiting St Andrews and Balmoral. With David leading the way through familiar territory from his past, you may even get the chance to glimpse the Queen at Balmoral Castle, if she’s in residence at the time. Imagine your excitement should that happen!

Back in Edinburgh, take a tour of Edinburgh Castle high on the , walk the Royal Mile and visit the Royal Yacht Britannia. As you wind your way through Yorkshire, explore the York Minster before you head southward to the home of William Shakespeare in Stratford-Upon-Avon and tour the prestigious colleges at Oxford.

In London, start your day at Buckingham Place, before you explore Clarence House and St James Palace. You will spend the last day of the tour exploring Windsor Castle, Hampton Court Palace and Eton, where Prince William broke family tradition and attended school, before you return to London.

Along the way as you will be immersed in Britain’s rich historic culture and long held traditions. Experience a bagpipe performance, a dram or two of the finest at a whisky tasting and tours of some of England and Scotland’s most historic cities and towns.
