We have all adapted to this COVID-19 era, where it’s imperative to take additional measures to stay healthy. That’s why you can travel with Insight Vacations, reassured that they have put new measures in place to elevate their hygiene standards and protocols on their tours.
The health and wellbeing of their guests and team has always been, and always will be of primary concern. Here are some important new steps and procedures that Insight Vacations have implemented to enhance hygiene protocols, to comply with physical distancing requirements by government authorities and to give you the needed peace of mind during your travels in these new times.
During your trip, your Insight Vacations Travel Director will operate with a duty of care and monitor the hygiene etiquette of all guests, reacting and advising as needed to ensure high standards are maintained. All Travel Directors have been trained in new and enhanced hygiene and physical distancing procedures.
Before you travel, you will be informed about new protocols required in these areas and it is vital that you cooperate with and heed the advice and direction of your Travel Director while on your trip. Travel Directors have preventative measures in place to ensure your wellbeing and in the event that any unexpected issues arise on trip, they will activate additional protocols.
To provide you additional personal support and assistance when you travel with Insight Vacations, Travel Directors and Travelling Concierges will be supported by a specially trained and dedicated Wellbeing Director on every journey with over 20 guests, except in Australia and New Zealand.
Your Wellbeing Director will monitor all the hygiene protocols, daily coach sanitisation including sanitising processes for baggage handling , perform quality checks with local suppliers to ensure they meet expected standards and keep you up to date on local regulations to be able 24/7 to address your concerns while you travel.
It’s not just your Travel Director and Driver who will be taking care of you. Behind the scenes, operations and guest support teams are in contact with them and on call 24/7, so you can rest assured that you’re in good hands.
Insight Vacation’s customised luxury coaches are sanitised before the start of your trip and have always been kept to very high standards. Following the outbreak of COVID-19, additional measures have been put in place to elevate hygiene and sanitary practices, in accordance with guidance from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and government regulations as required.
Your coach driver is trained with the latest hygiene protocols and will clean and disinfect all surfaces including handrails, door handles, tables, seats, air-conditioning filters and overhead lockers on a daily basis. All guests are asked to follow hygiene practices recommended by the World Health Organisation including the thorough and regular washing of hands and sanitising when required. Hand sanitiser is freely available on board the coach for you to use throughout the day.
Please pack your own washable face mask and gloves, as these are required to be worn in public in some countries, and you may wish to carry additional hand sanitiser to make you feel comfortable. Should an unexpected situation arise, additional face masks, rubber gloves, antiviral sprays and wipes are available for guest distribution on all trips.
Insight Vacations are highly selective in choosing the partners they work with and only use hotels, restaurants, ground handlers and venues that agree to meet expected guidelines and specifications. They only work with establishments that they are confident will consistently adhere to their standards.
Thanks to their smaller groups and customised luxury coaches with fewer seats, you not only enjoy twice the legroom of a standard coach but also more personal space on board. Smaller groups also mean less queuing whilst embarking and disembarking the coach, as well as at hotels and attractions, so it’s easier to maintain a comfortable physical distance.
Guests, families and groups of friends travelling together will be seated together at all times and solo travellers will be allocated two seats wherever possible. Seat rotation may be limited depending on the vehicle you are travelling on and your Travel Director or Travelling Concierge will be sure to assist where possible with seating requests.
As part of The Travel Corporation (TTC), Insight Vacations is kept up to date with all government advisories and travel alerts on a daily basis and is continually in touch with all partners on the ground in each destination. Also, rest assured that during your trip, Insight’s teams work to ensure their supplier partners (hotels, restaurants, museums and other venues) are also applying the same standard to these new hygiene and distancing protocols, to the extent possible.
Insight Vacations have introduced these enhanced hygiene protocols – for you, other guests travelling with you, and the team members who will look after you. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the World Health Organisation and government health bodies, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
Insight Vacations ask that you please take personal responsibility for your wellbeing. This begins with packing any personal protective equipment and sanitisers you require. Please adopt physical distancing and hygiene practises throughout your pre-trip travel arrangements and follow all health instruction whether physical signage, or requests from their professional staff once you are travelling.
All guests are asked to monitor their health throughout their trip. In the event that you or someone you are travelling with becomes ill, your Travel Director and Travel Concierge will follow protocols to ensure guest care and the safety of the rest of the group. In choosing to travel with Insight Vacations, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
You are free to change your travel plans up to 30 days prior to your trip’s departure date. Choose new dates and/or a new destination without penalty on the land portion of your trip.
All guests will be asked to complete a personal wellness declaration in MyInsight before joining their trip. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or are travelling with someone who has, you will not be able to join the trip until cleared as ‘fit for travel’ by a medical professional. (Your Travel Director and Travelling Concierge will also submit a Self-Health Declaration prior to the trip as well as post trip).
Specific details will vary by airline, but standard operations typically include flight attendants wearing masks, sanitising all surfaces between flights and enhanced hygiene protocols. Check with your airline for any change of travel plan fees as these may still apply outside the TTC Flexibility Guarantee timeframe of 30 days.
You’ll receive a Pre-Trip email from your Travel Director or Travelling Concierge sharing health and hygiene guidelines in accordance with local directives specific to your trip as well as information related to recognising COVID-19 symptoms.
At the end of your trip, you’ll be able to share your opinions of your experience, allowing Insight to continually improve their service for the benefit of future guests.
With these elevated health and hygiene protocols in place, you can feel confident to consider your next holiday with Insight Vacations, knowing you and their team will do everything possible to keep each other safe and healthy and have an enjoyable journey.
