Enjoy more time to explore Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Visit Kata Tjuta, also known as The Olgas, an area of over 20 square kilometres consisting of 36 domes. These domes soar up to 546 metres, forming deep valleys and steep-sided gorges. An important Anangu cultural site, Kata Tjuta translates to ‘many heads'.

It's back aboard your trusty 4WD to travel from Kings Canyon along the Mereenie Loop Road to Alice Springs. En route, pause at Hermannsburg and visit the Namatijira School of Art, where you can admire authentic artwork.
Afterwards, head to Gosses Bluff Crater for lunch. You'll arrive in Alice Springs this afternoon.

Today, journey to Tjoritja, also known as the West MacDonnell Ranges. Once here, head to Simpsons Gap, a sacred scenic area that's an important spiritual site to the Arrernte people. This is the site where several Dreamtime stories are said to have taken place. Among the towering cliffs rests a permanent watering hole, which makes for excellent wildlife viewing. Keep an eye out for black-footed rock-wallabies. (B/L/D)
