This morning you will travel to Franklin House, an enchanting historic homestead surrounded by gardens. Built in 1838 for Britton Jones, a former convict who was by then a successful Launceston brewer and publican, the house became one of the Colony's leading private schools between 1842 and 1866. Explore the elegant Georgian style house before moving out to the extensive gardens, which include a 180-year-old oak tree.
