Take in Boston this morning on a panoramic city tour. You'll see historic sites like the Old South Meeting House, Boston Common, and the quaint cobblestone streets and federal-style rowhouses of Beacon Hill. Your tour ends in Faneuil Hall, where you'll have free time to explore and try a local lunch favorite, like “clam chowdah”. Faneuil Hall – or Quincy Market – has been a marketplace and meeting hall since 1743; it truly is the heart of Boston.
Later this afternoon, join a local foodie for a tour of Boston's famed North End. Enjoy some local bites along the way culminating with dinner at a local restaurant with your fellow travelers – toast to new friends met in the old city of Boston. (B/D)
Today, head to the North Shore of Massachusetts to the city of Salem. When you arrive, it’s your choice! Choose to either venture through Salem on a historical tour, discovering how the dangerous but profitable maritime trade built not only mansions, but Salem’s rich culture -OR- visit the sites of the darkest time in Salem’s long history, the Salem Witch Trials, where neighbor turned on neighbor in a frenzy of suspicion.
Afterwards, take a stroll down the cobblestones of Essex Street for the quirky shops and great dining, or just relax and admire views of the harbor. Perhaps you’ll decide to tour the House of the Seven Gables, made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne. (B)
Take in Cape Cod your way because today, it's your choice! Take advantage of the amenities at your waterfront hotel, perhaps sitting by the pool or visiting the private beach on the resort's property -OR- join your Tour Manager for a trip to Sandwich.
In Sandwich, you can get a peek into the glassblowing art form with a demonstration at the Sandwich Glass Museum -OR- visit the Heritage Museums & Gardens celebrating the culture and history of the region with 100 acres of gardens and exhibits including classic cars and a working carousel from 1908. The remainder of your day and evening is at leisure. (B)
