Sunshine Coast Uncovered

Hello Brisbane! After meeting and greeting our new Contiki family, it's time to head up the coast to Noosa. This lush, laid-back resort town has everything, from subtropical rainforest to crystal waters - set within the UNESCO-listed Noosa Biosphere. We'll check into our accom before heading to the Sunshine Beach Surf Club to have an included dinner at the waterfront. This evening we'll truly know the meaning of the good life. We've got a free day in this charming town. Our recommendation? Take the brewery trail with us. This craft beer experience will take you behind the scenes in some of the best breweries in Australia, where we'll get to taste, smell and see the brewing process firsthand. From IPAs to stouts and lagers, there's something to suit all of our pallets today. If you're not a big beer fan, don't worry - there's plenty of other things to get a taste of today. From lazing on the beach to exploring the cute cafes, it's hard not to be happy in this unique town. (B)

We're departing Noosa today, headed to Fraser Island. Welcome to the only place where rainforests grow on sand dunes, where the sands come in 72 different colours, and where the clear blue waters of Lake Mackenzie will take your breath away. Eager to explore? We thought so - that's why we've put together a showstopping experience for you. We're giving you your very own 4x4s to self-drive around the island over the next few days with a guide showing you the best hotspots.

This is a tour like no other, as you drive from scenic lakes to dense rainforests to incredible beaches. As well as visiting the iconic Lake Mackenzie, we'll go on a rainforest walk, enjoy an included lunch and hear stories about the island from our local guide. We'll also get to check out a 75 mile beach, though we don't recommend trying to walk the whole thing. It's day 2 of our 4x4 tour! Today our local guide will take us to even more spectacular sites, including Champagne Pools, Indian Head, the shipwreck of the SS Maheno and Eli Creek (tide dependent). (B/L)

We're headed to Noosa Everglades this morning. Lucky us. Buzzing from our 4WD adventure, we're on our way to our first Special Stay. One of Australia’s most exciting eco-tourism projects, the beautiful Habitat Noosa is nestled just 25 minutes north of Noosa, in the heart of the Everglades. Today we'll get to enjoy an included cruise and canoe tour of the Everglades, gliding along the hidden waterways and learning about the delicate ecosystem here. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife. We'll relax tonight with a group dinner in CootharaBar bistro & bar area, washed down with some beer brewed on-site and surrounded by the chatter and rustling of local birds and kangaroos. Wake up to the sound of birds chirping at our Eco Camp this morning (you might even spot a kangaroo) then we're headed back to where it began. Swap social deets and make plans for future adventures. Where will we go together next? (B)
