Leave Europe's highest capital behind, bound for the Costa Dorada and the sun-kissed shores of Barcelona. We venture to the pretty banks of the Ebro River and to mystical Zaragoza, whose centuries of heritage have been shaped by the Romans, Moors and Christians. Later, dive into the indelible sights, sounds and flavours of this enchanting city on your free evening. (B) Stay: Hotel Barcelona Condal Mar, Affiliated By Meliá

Join your Local Specialist this morning for a sightseeing tour, soaking up the Mediterranean atmosphere of Catalunia's capital city. See the monument to Christopher Columbus and vibrant Las Ramblas, before stopping outside Antonio Gaudí's unfinished masterpiece, La Sagrada Família to admire its unique architecture.

Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure indulging in the fantasy world of Gaudí or strolling through the hidden lanes and peaceful squares in the city's Gothic Quarter. You could consider joining an Optional Experience to the mountain-top monastery of Montserrat, home to the mystical Black Madonna, the patron saint of Catalonia. (B)

On your final afternoon, enjoy some free time to indulge in la dolce vita. Spain & Italy with Trafalgar   1 , QLD, Australia, May 2018
Thanks, Global Journeys and Trafalgar what a wonderful holiday with my wife Bev and our sister-in-law Gwen. Starting in Madrid and ending in Rome it was marvelous trip and met some wonderful people from all over the world.
Madrid to Rome   1 , QLD, Australia, May 2018
The pace of this tour was just right with plenty of free time to explore each location. Our tour guide Krista was superb, she was very knowledgeable and added greatly to the tour. Wonderful sites and history.
Fast paced holiday to see the best sights of Europe 2 , New Zealand, Sep 2017
Fantastic tour and loads of fun, suited to those of reasonably good fitness. It was quite busy but we got to see as much as we possibly could and fitted in a few quiet afternoons of shopping too. I did all of the optional extra's as I didn't want to miss a thing and I was pleased that I did. The accommodation was good except maybe two nights that let ...read more it down, but you don't spend much time in your room anyway. Personally I felt that some of the tour was a bit too busy for some of the elderly guests and it was occasionally frustrating waiting on them, but that is part of the deal and they were such lovely people that you couldn't get angry about it.
Fantastic trip through Europe 2 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2017
Fantastic trip. saw all the things that were important to us plus more. The tour guide was very informative and the bus was clean and comfortable. The days were full but had more optional experiences than regular ones which were part of the tour. This was unexpected as we had previously done the best of Britain tour which had more planned tours as ...read more part of trip and less optional ones where you had to pay extra for. (something to be aware of when selecting a tour) we certainly had a lot of free time with this tour as decided against some of the optional experiences, that seemed pricey.

We could not have had a more relaxed trip. Over all we would certainly recommend Trafalgar to anyone. The one negative I do have is the quality of the meals provided, were a bit below average, Not much choice of what we ate and quite often the entree could have been part of the main course, but was separated just to appear like you were having another course! eg: frozen mixed veg entree, and chop and potato main course. Part of the pleasure of the holiday is the food, so was disappointing at times, along with the cheaper wines.
