Oceania prides themselves on their trademark culinary offering – The Finest Cuisine at Sea. At the hands of talented chefs from around the world, the very best artisanal ingredients are transformed into culinary masterpieces that wow guests, dish after dish.
Every recipe has been carefully crafted by Oceania’s innovative and passionate team, delivering menus that are a far cry from the notion of the traditional ‘cruise buffet’. Whether you are eyeing off the Filet Mignon, the Octopus Carpaccio with Champagne Vinaigrette, the Whole Maine Lobster Gratinée or one of the other delectable dishes, there are plenty of reasons that make Oceania Cruises the perfect choice for epicurean travellers.
Behind Oceania’s culinary program is a team that is as passionate as it is talented. Jacques Pépin, Oceania’s Executive Culinary Director, is renowned worldwide – you may have seen him on TV hosting one of many television series or perhaps have even replicated some of his recipes from one of his 30 cookbooks. Having served as personal chef to three French heads of state, a culinary program inspired by Jacques Pépin is sure to be of the highest calibre.
Oceania’s Corporate Executive Chef, Franck Garanger, also has a wealth of experience and accolades. From rubbing shoulders with gastronomic greats to tenures at distinguished restaurants, he has expanded and evolved his skills which all started back in the Loire Valley at his father’s pâtisserie-boulangerie. He now oversees the culinary operations aboard Oceania’s ships and the galleys that are manned by Executive Chefs who make the magic happen.
On board Oceania Cruises, you can enjoy a daily changing menu in the Grand Dining Room or opt to dine in one of the specialty restaurants (which vary by ship). Guests can enjoy specialty restaurants at no additional charge, with the exception of special wine pairing dinners and private dining.
Enjoy authentic Italian cuisine at Toscana or a classic steakhouse experience at Polo Grill, enjoy lunch al fresco at the Waves Grill, or head to the Terrace Café for an informal dining experience complemented by a daily changing menu of internationally inspired options.
If you are cruising aboard Marina, Riviera or Sirena, you can enjoy the bold flavours of Asian cuisine at Red Ginger, and exclusively on Marina and Riviera you’ll also find Jacques, a restaurant reflecting the passion its namesake has for French cuisine. Step into what feels like Parisian bistro where you might like to try the rotisserie-roasted chicken or beef, or perhaps a Sea Bass Filet paired with Beurre Blanc.
Looking for an extra special experience? Enjoy a pairing dinner at La Reserve by Wine Spectator, or host a private party at Privée. Both dining experiences incur a surcharge, and are exclusively available on board Marina and Riviera.
As cuisine is cornerstone of Oceania’s offering, the epicurean journey goes beyond just the restaurant walls. On Oceania’s larger ships – Marina and Riviera – guests will also find The Culinary Centre on board. Learn from expert master chefs in hands on cooking classes, with different themed cuisines and techniques at your fingertips (charges apply).
There are also Culinary Discovery Tours available for purchase. Head ashore to connect with the local food scene with tours through traditional markets, delight your palate at renowned restaurants, and sample regional produce in situ.
Getting hungry? Set sail with Oceania Cruises to enjoy a gourmet journey that complements the other incredible experiences on board and on shore. Whet your appetite with this collection of worldwide cruises and choose your next voyage.
