China Discovery   0 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2024
Well organised by Global Journeys and Viking Cruises. The ship was very comfortable the crew were professional and entertaining.
The tours were outstanding. The lectures very interesting and the entertainment was unbelievable. Pickups , transfer and flights well organised by Tracey at Global Journeys. Looking forward to our next cruise next year.
British Isles and Iberia cruise   0 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2024
Wonderful cruise but very American orientated. Lectures onboard were informative but also directed to the American audience. Shore excursions were well organised and entertainment fantastic. Size of ship is also appealing. Global Journeys were great to book through and will continue to organise my travel arrangements through Georgie.
Great Lakes Explorer with Viking   0 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2024
The trip highlights included outstanding expertise and knowledge of the expedition crew. Our talks were succinct and informative and you could participate in a wide range of scientific discussions and activities. We loved the zodiac and special operation boat rides, would have loved the option to do both rather than choose. Optional shore excursions ...read more were rather expensive and some should have been included (walking tours of towns). Safety was always paramount. The ship’s crew also were most attentive and accomodating. We had a lovely time and Viking’s standard of service remains very high.
Viking Homelands and Majestic Iceland Cruise     0 , TAS, Australia, Jul 2024
This was our first cruise with Viking and won’t be our last. The Viking Venus had a wonderful ambience in all public areas. With a crew member for every two people, the service was quick in the restaurants, cafes and bars. Food, drinks, entertainment, lectures and port talks were first rate.

There are no internal cabins, they all have balconies ...read more and serviced twice a day by friendly stewards. There are two specialist restaurants, as well as the main restaurant and World Cafe which is a buffet style and has special food nights, like pasta, kebab, lobster and Asian. Unless you particularly want yo drink premium wines, those served at lunch and dinner are of good quality.

In every port there was an included tour, some were better than others. We didn’t know before we went that there would be shuttle buses in some of the ports. Would have used one in Gdańsk to do the Amber Museum instead of paying for an optional tour. Go in the morning, as we had not time to shop for amber as the heavens opened up in the afternoon. A large storm with torrential rain, lightning, flooding cut our tour short and absolutely drenched and sitting soaked through on a bus for an hour.

In Oslo, go to Museum Island on the first day in port. As we were doing an included tour in the afternoon and the ship sailed before lunch the next day, we did not have time to do this. Kon-Tiki, Explorers and Folk museums are all near each other and you can take a boat from the wharf over to the island. Scandinavian cities are all situated around a wharf area, have brightly coloured houses, lovely gardens and many souvenir shops. Sailing into the fjords is very scenic and many waterfalls cascading down from the mountains.

The Majestic Iceland cruise continued from Bergen to the Faroe Islands and around Iceland to Reykjavik. We stayed two extra days there and did three tours. The first with Arctic Adventure, who offer a combo tour - the lava tunnels and Golden Circle. The second was with Gateway to Iceland to the Rekjanes Peninsula, which is the geo-thermal area and more interesting than the commercialised Golden Circle. We stood between the two continents, the North American and European plates that are pulling Iceland apart slowly.

Tracey at Global Journeys was always in contact with us from booking to departure and answered any queries promptly. We could pay by instalments, which spreads the payments easily during the months before our trip. We have now booked several trips with Global Journeys with no problems and appreciate the discounts and attention to detail.
Fabulous Trip   1 , NSW, Australia, May 2024
Everything went so smoothly. This Viking cruise was exceptional. The staff, accommodation, tours, talks and of course the food were excellent. Highly recommend this trip and of course Global Journeys.
Viking cruise highly recommended   1 , NSW, Australia, May 2024
The Viking cruise was amazing. The Mars Viking was tastefully decorated and only 2 years old. The staff were fabulous as was the food. We were given the opportunity to try wines from all over Europe at each meal but were still able to request your favourite wine. Norway is beautiful and we had amazing weather. It was a shame the weather meant we missed ...read more one port in Iceland but it was too dangerous because of icebergs. The included tours were good and we added some extra tours which were great.
Viking ticks all boxes again! Empires of the Mediterranean   2 , VIC, Australia, Apr 2024
Our second Viking ocean cruise did not disappoint - the ships are so elegant and comfortable. The service is fantastic and it a great way to experience multiple destinations. The included tours and port information provided is excellent, a great experience all round. As always, Hannah’s professional and friendly service with the booking procedure ...read more was appreciated.
Great memories on a sensational Viking excursion!   1 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2024
Having travelled with Viking twice in the last few years, my wife Sue and I decided to venture out on our third adventure …this time with Viking Odyssey. With extensions available at both ends of the journey, we opted to take on both options that had us visit Madrid and Venice. These adventures were ‘must do’ experiences that were supported by Viking ...read more staff that presented amazing knowledge and information that were highly appreciated.

On board with Viking Star, we once again booked the Penthouse Verandah suite….just sensational on all avenues. Our experiences on ship were all a 10 out of 10. All staff members are genuinely friendly and helpful… through the roof. The restaurant venues and choices are second to none. l must say, the quality and range of options is outstanding. I must say, it’s not difficult to understand why people continue to travel with Viking. It really is a case of ‘when you travel with the best, forget the rest. Many thanks Viking… our next adventure with you is now very close.
Viking Orion Komodo and Australian Coast   1 , WA, Australia, Feb 2024
The main purpose of this cruise for us was to experience the ship which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food on board was the best we have experienced on any cruise and we have been on roughly twenty or more cruises. The layout of the ship was perfect for our preferences. The crew were super friendly. Only one glitch was a problem with the hot water system ...read more but it was remedied very quickly. We would recommend Viking and Global Journeys to everyone.
In Search of the Northern Lights     2 , SA, Australia, Jan 2024
This was my first ever cruise and although, due to the worst storms in 40 years in Norway, we were only able to visit the Ports of Bergen, Alta and Tromso it was a fantastic experience. The weather was particularly cold with ice, snow and blizzards I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Instead of sailing in to London Viking chartered planes to take ...read more us there which was a mean feat for them having to transport 900 passengers to and from London.

The service on board was excellent and all of the staff from the Captain, General Manager, Customer Relation Staff, Bar and Service staff as well all the entertainers were fantastic and made our journey one to remember. I would rather have been delayed in Tromso on board the Viking ship than up a mountain in a hut with no heating, food or drink and the bonus was we got to see the Northern Lights. Thank you Viking for a wonderful trip and the very generous discount on future cruises and I look forward to my river cruise next year. Well done everyone.
Wonderful Cruise Sydney to Auckland NZ     2 , QLD, Australia, Dec 2023
What an amazing experience! From the time we boarded the Viking Orion in Sydney to disembarking in Auckland our expectations were exceeded at every point. The staff were very friendly and accommodating - nothing was a problem. The entertainment was brilliant and the food terrific. What was very noticeable was the high standard of cleanliness that ...read more was maintained throughout the ship - it made us very confident that we would be unlikely to become ill because of some bug on the ship. Well done Viking - we have booked another cruise with you and Global Journeys.
Great cruise   2 , SA, Australia, Aug 2023
Had a wonderful time on the Viking Mars cruising around the British Isles. The weather was perfect, it only rained on our last day (in Bergen). Our favourite stop was Invergorden where we cruised Loch Ness, walked around Urquhart Castle (which was the only Highland castle to hold out against the English), then we visited the standing stones at Craigh ...read more na Dun (famous in the Outlander series), then onto the site of the Culloden battlefield. Thanks to Jemma for all her hard work in looking after and helping with our booking. We’ve booked another cruise through Global Journeys and are looking forward to cruising the Seine next year.
Wonderful cruise with Viking   2 , Queensland , Australia, Aug 2023
Our first Viking ocean cruise and we were not disappointed! Everything was amazing, from the staff, to the ship facilities, to the included tours. Being a smaller ship with only 930 was so much nicer than sailing on the huge liners with thousands of passengers. No kids is also a bonus! For us it was well worth the money we paid. We left the ship with ...read more not a bill to pay as everything was included. Of course there are optional tours and drinks outside of lunch and dinner that cost extra, but we didn’t opt for those. We booked the lowest category cabin which certainly met our needs. All cabins include verandahs and our cabin was a decent size. We don’t tend to spend much time in our cabin anyway as we often travel in a group.

The great thing is that there are self serve laundry facilities which meant we could leave the ship with clean clothes for the next part of our 10 week journey through Europe. The service onboard was wonderful and the staff couldn’t do enough for us and always with a smile. In fact, the day of disembarkation, our transfer wasn’t until 1pm so we were invited to stay onboard in the public areas and even given lunch whilst the next group of passengers were embarking. The only negative, although no one’s fault, was the weather. It was so hot!! Europe was having a heatwave this year. So in future we would probably not leave home as early as we did (end of August). Maybe 3 weeks later would have been ideal. Many thanks to Georgie for organising our cruises (we also did Viking’s France’s Finest river cruise). She was always available for any queries we had and always prompt with the replies. 😃
Great to start in Anchorage     3 , QLD, Australia, Aug 2023
Thanks Jemma for everything to organise another great holiday for us. We really appreciated starting in Anchorage, and the 2 day pre-cruise extension was absolutely a great start. Marriott was well located and we loved the included orientation tour and then spending time exploring on our own. The transfer to the ship at Seward was very valuable as it's ...read more an awkward transfer if done independently. The cruise was good - but food was very American oriented - so lots of fried, fatty foods with not a lot of fresh - still - plenty to eat. Viking comfort and amenities were tops - as usual.

Stops we particularly liked were Icy Strait Point, Sitka and Ketchikan. Haines was a disappointing stop as there's really nothing to do there and the "famed" Raptor Centre turned out to be a few sad bald eagles in very small cages and lots of stuffed wildlife specimens. Skagway would have been preferable. Wildlife sightings didn't happen - but the weather was perfect - so you can't have everything! Hubbard Glacier was also good - although a long day in fog to get to actually see the mammoth glacier! Finishing in Vancouver was great as it meant just one flight home - instead of the 2 to get to Anchorage and the reasonably long transit between which made for a very long start to the trip. Thanks Jemma - talk soon again...about our next travels!!
Viking cruise Venice to Istanbul   1 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2023
Thanks Tracey, the cruise and itinerary was first class with nothing too much trouble for the friendly Viking crew. There were highlights and tours at every port, each one offering amazing insights into these ancient countries and cities. Global Journeys made the booking process simple and assistance always available.

The only downside for us was ...read more the airline choice and final booking for flights seemed rushed with limited options. I realise we chose Singapore Airlines economy but on reflection it was a poor choice, crowded and uncomfortable. I think more time and advice from Global Journeys should have been available. The return flight took the shine off the experience.
Viking Cruise   1 , Queensland, Australia, Jul 2023
Absolutely wonderful trip. Everything was never any trouble for the staff and crew. Everything from the shore excursions to the wonderful food and service were great. Friendly staff who helped in any way they could. I had my luggage misplaced by my airline between Rome and London and Viking went out of their way to help me in any way they could from ...read more tracking my luggage to give me a $150 on board credit even though it was not their fault. I think this is a great case of customer relations. I would have no hesitation in recommending Viking to any one wanting a wonderful trip.
Into the midnight shun   1 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2023
Recently returned from a Viking Cruise along the coast of Norway, Scottish Islands of Shetland and Orkney, Edinburgh and into London. The trip was amazing and well worth the experience. Viking Homelands - Well worth the wait post covid!   1 , TAS, Australia, Jul 2023
This was our first ocean cruise and despite the 3 year wait post Covid and the omission of Finland and Russia we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise around Scandinavia. The service was impeccable with efficient, cheerful and kind staff and the food and facilities were outstanding! Viking cruise, Iceland   1 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2023
We are frequent travellers, been to over 70 countries, but Iceland is different. It is a small countries with under 370,000 people, very friendly, easy going population. It is geologist’s heaven, you can see all kinds of earth activities. The capital Reykjavik is fairly small, with 2 main streets where restaurants and souvenir shops are. Perlan Museum ...read more is a must, a great place to introduce one to the landscapes of Iceland. We enjoyed the Sky Lounge spa very very much, better than Blue Lagoon. Viking cruises are always comfortable, understated elegance. The week we were there, June 26 - July 3,the weather was cold, wet and windy.
Beautiful Iceland Cruise   2 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2023
Our Viking cruise around Iceland didn’t disappoint. Every port was absolutely beautiful and sometimes we felt we had the place to ourselves. Thank you Tracey and team for many changes to this booking through Covid.
