Over the years, our guests have asked us for only the most authentic Galápagos experience. Enter the Silver Origin, our very first ship created entirely for a specific destination. We took what we learned from our guests and the singular geography and character of the Galápagos, and designed an entirely new kind of ship, from the water up.

Our guests’ experiences have led directly to the mindful design and features of this unique class of vessel, including a new and innovative venue, Basecamp, where you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the destination before you even leave the ship.

You will also be able to experience authentic Ecuadorian cuisine onboard as well as enjoy breathtaking views throughout, thanks to the ship’s floor-to-ceiling windows. And finally, Silver Origin features a brand new design that prizes efficiency and minimizes the ship’s impact on the delicate ecosystem of this incredible archipelago.

The natural beauty of the Galápagos Islands makes it one of the best cruise destinations in the world, and we have had the privilege of hosting numerous guests over the years. We learned they want to stay immersed in these magnificent islands, even while on the ship. As I have been in and around the archipelago for the past 20 years, I feel every moment aboard should allow all our guests to take in the wonder and magic of this singular destination.

Therefore we gave our design team the brief of making sure our guests could enjoy as many bright, open spaces aboard Silver Origin as possible. The ship features sweeping views over the Galápagos, thanks to large floor-to-ceiling windows that extend throughout the ship, meaning the islands are with you while you eat, sleep and relax. The Observation & Stargazing Platform offers uninterrupted views, which follow you to your suite, from where you just might spot a sea lion relaxing on shore through the glass horizon balcony or private ocean-view shower.

Basecamp opens out directly onto our marina, providing easy, seamless access to our numerous Zodiacs®.
