What does Silversea include?
Silversea is all-inclusive. This means free-flowing wines and spirits, gourmet dining (24-hour room service too), butler service for all suite categories, on board entertainment, Wi-Fi, gratuities, and at least one shore excursion in every port.
What does Door-to-Door mean?
Silversea’s ‘Door-to-Door’ cruise fare includes a private chauffeur service which will take you from your home to your domestic airport and back again, as well as return international flights with the option to purchase a Business Class upgrade and transfers between the airport and the ship (and vice-versa),...read more plus your all-Inclusive cruise fare.
Are drinks included?
Yes, you’ll enjoy complimentary champagne, wine, beer and premium spirits throughout your cruise. Your Silversea butler will even keep your mini bar stocked with all your favourite drinks!
Are shore excursions included?
Yes, one complimentary shore excursion is included per guest, per day on Silversea cruises. You can also book additional shore excursions prior to cruising, so be sure to get in early to avoid disappointment.
When can I book my shore excursions?
Once your cruise is booked and confirmed, your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor will ask you to complete your ‘My Silversea’ account, where you can book your shore excursions right up until 2 days prior to sailing. Availability is limited and on a first-come-first-served basis, so we recommend booking your shore...read more excursions as soon as possible.
When can I book my spa appointments?
You can book most salon and spa appointments as early as 180 days prior to sailing, but you can always indulge in a spontaneous treatment while on board (subject to availability).
Is a Silversea cruise suitable for children?
Not really. Silversea don’t offer any on board programs for children and cruise itineraries aren’t really designed with children in mind. You may see children on board, but there won’t be many – if any!
What do I wear on my cruise?
During the day, smart casual clothing is good for relaxing on board the ship or exploring ashore. Evenings are dressier, ranging from smart casual to formal attire (so ladies, be sure to pack an evening gown or cocktail dress, and men, dust off your suit and tie!).
What should I pack?
We suggest packing layers to cover all temperatures. Include appropriate clothes and comfortable shoes for your time ashore, as well as a mix of smart-casual and formal wear for your time on board. What currency is used on board?
The currency used on board Silversea ships is US Dollars. Silversea accepts cash (USD), traveller’s cheque (USD) or credit cards including VISA, MasterCard and American Express.
What does a butler do?
Your Silversea butler is available to assist with whatever you need, no matter what suite category you’ve booked. Your butler will unpack your suitcase, make restaurant reservations for you, keep your room pristine and help with any special request you may have. Do I need to tip during my cruise?
Silversea cruise fares are all-inclusive. This means that standard tipping, or gratuities, are already included.
When will I receive my cruise documents?
Your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor will email your final cruise documents to you about 2-3 weeks prior to departure, provided we have received all the required information we need from you. Bon Voyage!
When can I board my cruise?
Your embarkation time will be included in your final cruise documents. If you have arranged airport transfers on arrival as part of your Silversea reservation, then you will usually be met by a Silversea representative at the baggage claim area.
When can I disembark my cruise?
Plan to be out of your suite by 8.30am on the final day, as disembarkation starts shortly after the ship clears customs. However, Silversea will give you disembarkation instructions towards the end of your voyage, including your disembarkation time.
Are shore excursions included on my Silversea Expedition cruise?
Every Silversea Expeditions voyage offers complimentary shore excursions, with expedition activities such as Zodiac cruising, hiking, snorkelling, and kayaking being led by the Expedition Team. Select itineraries have additional shore excursions available for purchase.
What do I wear on my expedition cruise?
Expedition cruises are a bit more relaxed, so smart casual clothing is good for day time. Pack for comfort and remember to pack for your expedition destination, of course! Evening wear is informal – ladies wear dresses or trouser suits and men wear jackets (tie optional).
Does Silversea provide my expedition gear?
Silversea has a supply of rubber gumboots on board particular expedition voyages, but availability and sizes may be limited. It’s recommended you bring your own boots to ensure the perfect size and fit for your comfort. You can purchase or hire appropriate gear for your expedition cruise via Silversea’s ‘Ship...read more to Shore Traveler’. Is a Silversea Expedition suitable for children?
Not really. Silversea Expedition ships are not designed with children in mind and there are no children’s programs or facilities on board. There are also age restrictions to board Zodiac excursions. You might see children on an Expedition voyage, but it’s unlikely.
Do I need a visa?
You will need to contact the Embassy (Consular Services) of each country on your sailing itinerary for specific visa requirements, information, forms and fees for your nationality. More information can be found here.
Does Silversea have a loyalty program?
Yes, they do. Silversea’s loyalty program is called the Venetian Society, and you will receive all the same loyalty benefits due to you if you book with Global Journeys.
Do I need travel insurance?
Australian Medicare, New Zealand ACC and private health insurance will not cover you for any medical costs on board. All cruises (even cruises that do not visit foreign ports) require international travel insurance. When cruising to New Caledonia it is mandatory to have travel insurance.
