Travel to Blarney Castle; climb the winding staircase to kiss its famous stone or enjoy the gardens. Go to Kinsale, a picturesque old fishing town known for art galleries and gourmet food. Join a local guide for a fascinating walk around its historic streets, once besieged by the Spanish Armada, before dinner at your hotel. (B/D)

Set out on the Slea Head Loop, one of Ireland's most beautiful drives, through scenic ocean and mountain vistas. Visit the Blasket Centre in Dunquin to learn about the Blasket Islands, visible off the coast. Abandoned in 1954, they were once a lively outpost of traditional culture and language. Return to Dingle and visit Murphy's Ice Cream; taste their distinctive flavors like Irish Orange Marmalade, Brown Bread, and Dingle Gin. Take the rest of the day to wander and dine as you wish in this quaint seaside town. (B)

Visit the Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum, which recalls air travel in the 1930s and 1940s. Drive to the magnificent Cliffs of Moher, soaring 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean.

In the evening, visit a castle for a medieval-style banquet with traditional songs and stories. (B/D)

Travel through the rounded limestone hills of the Burren to Caherconnell and watch skilled dogs round up sheep. Stop in a charming Burren village to explore independently.

Continue on to lively Galway for a walking tour with a local guide – check out the medieval history evident in the city walls, the narrow streetscape, and Lynch's Castle. Explore the charming shops and listen to street musicians before dinner at your hotel. (B/D)

Drive through Connemara to Leenane for a catamaran cruise (seasonal) of Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord. Travel on to see Kylemore Abbey, a beautiful castle in a lakeside setting. Enjoy an evening free to explore vibrant, artistic Galway city. (B)

Travel north through County Mayo. Stop in County Fermanagh and visit Belleek Pottery to see craftspeople create their renowned fine china. Visit Donegal Castle, built by the O'Donnell chieftains in the 15th century and restored in the 1990s after falling into ruin for centuries. Enjoy free time in Donegal town before dinner at your hotel. (B/D)

Enjoy a coastal drive to view Slieve League, Europe's highest sea cliffs.

Continue on to CIE Tours preferred shopping partner, Triona Design, in Ardara; see demonstrations of spinning, weaving and knitting. Enjoy free time to explore and dine independently this evening. (B)

We had the best time! 1 , Australia, Sep 2019
Wonderful trip. We had the best time with CIE Tours. Thanks especially go to the two Sean's. Tour director Sean was the most patient, pleasant, informative, nothing too much trouble person. He gave us detailed information every day on what we were going to see and the history of the places. He even sang some Irish songs for us. He even got us tickets ...read more to a special music event in Galway, Trad on the Prom. Thank you Sean for being our tour director we struck gold with you. Now to the other very important Sean our coach driver. How he manoeuvred that huge coach around some of those roads so safely I don't know. We never once felt scared on this trip. Always happy and patient with all of us. I also want to acknowledge the great bunch of fellow travellers we were lucky enough to travel with. We had the best time with them. Thanks CIE for putting together this wonderful trip. Thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking of seeing Ireland.
Absolutely amazing tour from start to finish 1 , Australia, Jun 2019
We have just returned from our first CIE tour. It was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Our tour Director, Marion, was so well informed and made our days seem to float seamlessly. We had a lovely mix of Americans, Canadians, Australians and British. We learnt more histories every day and Marion always had several funny tales to tell. We were ...read more constantly laughing. Everything was so well prepared from the first to last days and all the included visits were well chosen. James, our excellent driver made it through the narrowest of lanes with no fuss. The hotels and arranged meals were first class. We have travelled the world with many tour companies and we would definitely recommend CIE for a tour of Ireland and Northern Ireland and excellent value for money.
A holiday to remember 1 , Australia, Apr 2019
Travelling on my own, I joined the Jewels of Ireland tour - the accommodation along the way was great, the food just kept coming, the included stops and visits were fantastic! And to top it off CIE handed us the dynamic duo of Sabina Murphy (tour guide extraordinaire) and Tony McCarthey (legendary bus driver). The facts and history that Sabina shared ...read more definitely added to the overall experience and Tony, not to be outdone, was also a wealth of information. Both had a warmth and wit about them that kept us laughing all the way around the Emerald Isle. CIE made this a holiday to remember for all the right reasons. I wouldn't hesitate to travel with CIE again.
Jewels of Ireland 4 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2017
Our Tour was amazing in every way possible. It was so much fun and I was sad when the holiday ended and we had to say goodbye to Dee and Oliver and our fellow travellers. Our Tour Director/Guide Dee was fantastic. She had a world of knowledge and was fun and enjoyable to be around, she recited poetry, sang us songs and her history and knowledge of Ireland ...read more was amazing. Our bus driver Oliver was fantastic as well. Our group got on very well and I met some lovely people. I will definitely do another CIE tour in the future and recommend to others to do.
A memorable Irish experience 1 , Australia, Jun 2017
We have just returned to Australia from Ireland where we took CIEÆs 'Jewels of Ireland' tour commencing 7th June. This was our first holiday outside Australia, and we are seniors, and we are very glad that we chose Ireland. The tour was excellent and we were looked after throughout by our driver Gerry McCarthy and our tour guide Liam Murray. Liam attended ...read more to our every need and he made us feel very much at home in Ireland. We learned so much from local tour guides and from Liam in his lovely Cork accent. We are extremely happy with the tour and the way that Liam and Gerry made our holiday such a memorable experience in lovely Ireland. We have travelled in Australia by long distance trains but have never before travelled for more than one day by road coach. We found aspects of extended tour coach travel interesting. We made many friends on tour and we will gladly recommend CIE tours, and particularly Liam and Gerry to our friends here in Australia.
Highly recommended 1 , Australia, Jun 2017
Highly recommend this tour. We had a great time. Full credit goes to Sabina our tour director and Brian our driver.
