Cruise Itinerary

Departs: 17:00

Los Angeles, a sprawling Southern California city, is famed not only for its influence on the entertainment industry but also for its diverse cultural offerings and sunny coastline. Highlights include the Getty Center, where art and stunning architecture meet in an expansive hilltop setting, and the historic Griffith Observatory, which offers panoramic views of the city and beyond.

For those embarking mid-afternoon, a stroll through the vibrant streets of Santa Monica or a visit to the eclectic Venice Beach Boardwalk provides a perfect slice of local life. Both are excellent spots to enjoy the quintessential SoCal sun, sand, and surf, complete with shops, street performers, and seaside eateries.

Ovation of the Seas makes sea days a real highlight. Soar above the ocean in the North Star capsule or feel the rush with indoor skydiving at RipCord by iFLY. There’s fun for all ages at SeaPlex—think bumper cars and roller-skating—while foodies can dive into playful plates at Wonderland or enjoy a cozy Italian at Jamie’s. Evenings buzz with live music and Broadway-style shows.

The international date line, established in 1884, passes through the mid-Pacific Ocean and roughly follows a 180 degrees longitude north to south line on the Earth. It does zigzag around political borders such as eastern Russia and Alaska’s Aleutian Islands.

Crossing the date line eastbound decreases the date by one day, while crossing the date line westbound increases the date. So when you cross east to west you always lose a day and crossing from west to east you get the same day twice (or gain a day).

Hakodate is one of the most popular city destinations in Japan. Here you can experience diverse dynastic architecture, the last Shogun battlefield and enjoy shimmering night views from Mount Hakodate. Located along Hokkaido's southwestern tip, you can immerse yourself in history within the star-shaped walls of Fort Goryokaku and explore the site of famous battles that transformed Japan.

Enjoy a mouth-watering seafood rice bowl (kaisen-don) from the Hakodate Morning Market and then relax with a soak in the Yunokawa hot springs on Hakodate's outskirts.

Tokyo, Japan's bustling capital, offers an eclectic mix of tradition and modernity. Begin your adventure with a visit to the Asakusa district, home to the ancient Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo's oldest and most significant temple. Nearby, Nakamise Street is perfect for souvenir shopping and sampling traditional snacks.

For a panoramic view of the city, head to the Tokyo Skytree, one of the world's tallest towers. Shibuya Crossing, one of the busiest pedestrian intersections, is a must-see for its sheer scale and energy. To experience tranquility, visit the serene Meiji Shrine, nestled in a lush forest in Shibuya. Don't miss trying Tokyo's renowned sushi at Tsukiji Outer Market or exploring the vibrant Harajuku district for trendy fashion and unique cafes.

Port:Yokohama

Yokohama Port serves as a gateway for travelers heading to Tokyo, located approximately 30 kms (about 19 miles) north of the port. The journey to Tokyo can take around 30 to 45 minutes by train. The Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal is the main docking site for cruise ships. The most efficient way to travel is by train, with the Minatomirai Line directly connecting Yokohama to Shibuya, a major hub in Tokyo. This allows visitors to easily access famous sights such as the Shibuya Crossing, Meiji Shrine, and the vibrant district of Shinjuku. Given the limited time typical of cruise stopovers, planning ahead to prioritize which attractions to visit is advisable.

Note: Ship ports may not be located in the starting & ending cities listed. Port and transfer details will be provided in your travel documentation. The provided itinerary is for informational purposes only. Activities and sightseeing attractions listed may not be available or achievable within the time in port.

This cruise was a lovely relaxing snapshot of the south island of New Zealand 1 , NSW, Australia, Mar 2025
This cruise was a lovely relaxing snapshot of the south island of New Zealand with our first stop being Milford Sound, Dusky Sound and then Doubtful Sound which were so incredible to view. The next stops were Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington which all had their own diverse and individual history to see. Travelling from Sydney Harbour in the early ...read more evening was also spectacular and returning at 5.00am into Sydney Harbour and leaving the ship to look back at the harbour, the Bridge and the Opera House was so special and an added bonus to this cruise.

The entire trip was very enjoyable and there was numerous activities on board the Ovation of the Seas and incredible musicians entertaining the passengers at various points throughout the cruise, not only the nightly shows. We enjoyed very much the Wellington excursion to the Shipwreck coast which included a visit to Pencarrow Lodge perched high on the cliff with stunning views to the South Island etc. Such a beautiful Lodge which included a lovely morning tea.
The Break Away 0 , NSW, Australia, Nov 2024
It was a great short break - everything was perfect from the booking in and cabin staff to the neverending quality food and wait service. I could not fault any of the staff involved that made our lives easy and restful. Disembarking was a breeze following the instructions and procedures. Will book again definitely.
Great cruise 3 , Australia, Jan 2024
This was a great cruise from start to finish. The booking process was easy. The port stops were great. The ship had a lot to do on board. The food was pretty good. Just the coffee on board could have been better.

This was my first cruise and it exceed my expectations. The facilities were top tier! I really enjoyed coming back to my stateroom which was great even without a balcony after a long day to relax. Beautiful New Zealand Cruise   4 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2023
Lovely cruise on Ovation of the Seas. The ship was very impressive. Especially suited for families with teenage children and young adults with lots of activities on board. Perhaps not so much for the older age group. New Zealand has some stunning scenery although I was on the last cruise for the season and we missed two ports because of inclement weather. ...read more Thanks to Georgie from Global Journeys for always handling my bookings so efficiently, everything went very smoothly.
