Cosmos vs Globus

The Low Down

Cosmos A lot of our clients aren't too fussed about their accommodation (as long as it's clean and comfortable) and are more interested in the destination. Over 1,200 past client reviews with an average 4.5 out 5 star rating, is impressive. Why? Great value and interesting itineraries. Part of the Globus Family, there are further great discounts to be had.

Accommodation is 3 to 3/12 star, but a lot of our clients are pleasantly surprised at the quality. Hotels are often located out of the city centre, so prepare your trip budget to allow for transfers or taxis if you want to explore the cities on your own. Allow extra funds for some meals and excursions not included in more premium inclusive itineraries. Like our past clients, we feel very comfortable recommending Cosmos.
Globus The Globus Family of Brands, which includes Globus, Cosmos, Monograms & Avalon Waterways are always popular with our clients. Globus offer a premium guided touring experience all over the world, catering mainly for the 55+ market - but like most Operators are open to all ages. Along with their standard itineraries, Globus also have a range of popular European Winter Escapes and numerous faith-based religious tours.

The majority if their trips are centred on Europe, Canada and the USA where they provide 4+ star accommodation, luxury coaches, plenty of meals & inclusions. Our team have enjoyed numerous journeys with Globus including trips to South America, Dalmatia, Mexico and Spain, so we have plenty of first hand knowledge to help you plan your next trip!

Spain Portugal and Morocco   0 , WA, Australia, Dec 2024
Spain Portugal and Morocco December 24 to January 25 was a good tour. Saw plenty of the highlights although Portugal could have been a little longer and Morocco less. All in all a good trip.
November a good time for Italy   1 , NSW, Australia, Nov 2024
November neither too hot nor too cold and lovely autumn colours and every day different: with no “maddening crowds”. Tour guide and driver excellent - November 2024. I had extra week in Rome and discovered the amazing Church of the Holy Stairs and Church of St Peter in Chains. Don’t miss visiting church where Michael Angelo, Galileo and others buried ...read more in square where you start and end your Florence tour.

Booking through Global Journeys has always been a hassle free and easy process. The Cosmos tour was wonderful with the highlights being Mt Fuji, visiting Bizen and Himeji Castle and the delicious food. There is so much to see and do. We had a full day of free time in Tokyo and Kyoto and it was not enough. Japan is just a fantastic place to visit. I ...read more would like to go back again.

To go and see the monastery wass always what I wanted to do so I’m so glad that I've done it now, Booking with Hannah makes booking so easy. She is so wonderful and efficient to deal with, not to mention very fast to respond your questions. Fantastic Journey   0 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2024
We were absolutely happy with the bus journey, the tour leader and bus driver, the atmosphere in the bus with all the passengers eager to help and converse and the venues and accommodation It exceeded our expectations.

Sensational tour guide (Nancy), outstanding driver (Sean) and an exceptional group of people. Well organised from both ends, Aus & US. Some hotels were a little underwhelming but in saying that most were well positioned with good access to attractions, services etc. The pick up guides were well informed & passionate about their city. Portugal in Depth   0 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2024
A comprehensive tour with a very knowledgeable guide in Pedro. The whole itinerary was enjoyable. Whilst so many, the cathedrals and castles were stunning and scenery breathtaking. A highlight for me was Porto - it has been my screensaver for several years! A trip not for the faint hearted with cobbled tile pavements and at times challenging steps into ...read more buildings. Accommodation in Lisbon at the Hilton felt like a prison, stark black corridors on each floor with room numbers impressed into the carpet at the door. Globus we arrived early and you offered transfers airport to city for A$80 pp each way! The airport was less than 10 kms away and organized transport could be booked for A$40 a car each way - not nice. The group of over 40 was a good one - everyone mixed and proved good company. (GJ. Organised transfers offered by the operator will always be more expensive than local transport options which is why, if tour clients are confident travellers, we recommend catching an Uber or taxis in most cases. However, some clients prefer the safety and knowledge that everything is pre-planned and pre-paid before they arrive.)
Spectacular Alaska with Alaska Cruise   0 , Victoria, Australia, Sep 2024
Land portion of the trip was awesome as were our guide Wade and our driver Maurice. The cruise part was also great and we were treated exceptionally well.
Touring Around Alaska by coach and cruising from Whittier to Vancouver   0 , Victoria, Australia, Sep 2024
Firstly the coach tour was sensational with many thanks to our exceptional tour guide Wade and our coach driver Maurice. Wade provided a great insight into Alaska past and present and was very knowledgable and very well organised as well as being a friend. Maurice's driving kept everyone so calm and he to had the coach very clean and was always there ...read more for us if we needed and answer or guidance. The places we saw visited and the things we saw were truly amazing and Wade's suggestion to fly by light plane around Mt Denali was one highlight for us as were the Glaciers, wildlife, accommodation and people. The boat cruise with Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam was relatively smooth sailing and everything was catered for onboard. The towns and places we visited were interesting including the glaciers again and the wildlife, scenery, entertainment, food, drinks.
An Amazing Holiday     0 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2024
It was an enjoyable, interesting and a hectic tour. We enjoyed very minute of it and look forward to joining Globus again soon. Julian our tour director was an wonderful guy from Madrid, he was very helpful along with all the other local guides. Mohammad, local guide in Morocco gave us a lot of inside information on the culture, history, how the ...read more country operates etc. but he was a kickback king, wherever he took us, he made sure he was rewarded.

We enjoyed all the places we visited, specially Rick's cafe in Casablanca. Fez and Tangier was my favorite cities. The venue and the evening show was enjoyable, although I was looking forward to Moroccan cuisines but in general they were very bland. The seafood meals that we had in Lisbon and Costa de Sol were excellent. The optional dinners and shows we saw just average compared to the cost, except in Fez. You need a lot of patience to put up with Moroccan Music. We made up for it by some lovely music in Portugal and Spain, especially when our Tour Director sang and danced along with us. The Farewell dinner in Madrid was memorable, but the dinner was average.
Our Long Awaited Alaska Trip Did Not Disappoint     0 , Christchurch, New Zealand, Jul 2024
Globus truly gave us The Spectacular Alaska Experience. Our tour director, Todd and driver, were friendly and accommodating. Both were knowledgeable providing information and history on the areas as we traveled in the motor coach. The accommodations were comfortable, and it was good having on site dining options, as on some evenings we got to our rooms ...read more quite late. Not that you realised as it was still light through to 11pm at least! The arranged excursions were all great and gave us the experiences we were after.

Our viewing of wildlife was not as frequent as we had hoped. It is just luck being in the right place at the right time. We did see Moose, Caribou, sealions and sea otters. (Take your binoculars). Our highlight was on the last day on a cruise into the Kenai Fjord where we witnessed a group of humpback whales bubble feeding on a shoal of fish. Truly amazing. If considering this tour, or any trip to Alaska, their sunny days are rare with most days cloudy and/or wet. This can mean the mountains are not visible at times and you need more warmer clothes than true summer ones.
A superb part of France     0 , SA, Australia, Jun 2024
The highlights of the tour included Mont St Michel, the magnificent Loire valley castles of Chenonceau and Chambord, Monet's garden, although very crowded, the farewell Seine river cruise dinner, the Normandy landing beaches and Versailles.
