On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you'll be transferred to the resort (flights to arrive prior to 3.00pm).

This afternoon, enjoy a leisurely drive out to Kata Tjuta. Witness a magnificent outback sunset there while enjoying sparkling wine. Stay: Outback Hotel & Lodge, Desert Gardens Hotel or Sails in the Desert Hotel, Ayers Rock Resort (3 nights.)

Travel to Kings Canyon and make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park. Time permitting, you may choose to descend into the green oasis of the ‘Garden of Eden'. Or, you may wish to take an easier, shorter walk to explore the boulder-strewn canyon creek bed. Return to Ayers Rock Resort. (B)

Watch the sunrise at Uluru, then travel to Kata Tjuta. Spend time exploring Walpa Gorge and its unusual rock formations.

This afternoon, visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Then, join your guide for a drive around the base of Uluru. Continue to the Kuniya Walk, where you'll be escorted to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. View ancient rock art and learn about the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. Late afternoon, witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset with sparkling wine.

Experience acclaimed artist Bruce Munro's Field of Light. Under cover of darkness, wander through 50,000 magical hand-crafted frosted glass spheres of light, in colours of ochre, deep violet, blue and gentle white. Then make your way to the dune top, where you'll be served tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Watch in awe as the sun pops up in the distance behind Uluru, flooding the landscape, including Kata Tjuta behind you, with light.

Later, you will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport for your onward flight (flights to depart after 9.30am).

When you arrive at Ayers Rock Airport, make your way to the front of the airport terminal for a complimentary transfer to your hotel. (flights to arrive prior to 1.30pm). This afternoon, visit the Uluru- Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.

Later, travel around the base of Uluru in comfort as your Driver Guide provides commentary about the numerous sacred sites and features to be found at Uluru. Learn about the native flora, fauna and intriguing culture of the traditional owners, the Anangu, and discover an array of fascinating sites. Continue by coach to the Kuniya Walk where your Driver Guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. In the late afternoon witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset while enjoying sparkling wine. Stay: Outback Hotel & Lodge, Desert Gardens or Sails in the Desert Hotel, Ayers Rock Resort (3 nights.)

Rise early this morning to travel to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, the Uluru Sunrise Viewing Area. Watch the first rays of sun light up the desert while enjoying a warming cup of tea or coffee.

After sunrise travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta. On the way, enjoy panoramic views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta at a dune viewing platform before arriving at Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The 1.3km walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. Return to the resort for some free time before later in the day embarking on a dinner under the stars.

The afternoon begins with another magical Uluru Sunset before moving to our exclusive BBQ dining site at the base of Uluru inside the National Park. Enjoy a native flavour focused dinner menu along with all wine, beer or non alcoholic beverages. Enjoy these in the unique setting under the stars and the powerful landscape of Uluru looming nearby. There is even time for star gazing. Your guide will conduct a tour of the night sky, pointing out some of the visible constellations and will also explain some Aboriginal stories that relate to the stars.

Later, you will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport for your onward flight (flights to depart after 9.30am).

Kings Canyon Rim Walk - High level of fitness required. This 6km hike will not be suitable for all guests. The first 30-minute incline is considered “Difficult”. The Tour Director will offer guest an easier alternative along the creek walk for those that are unable.

Highly recommend AAT Kings 1 Vicki Jennings, NSW, Australia, Aug 2015

AAT Kings first time on tour with these guys and the whole tour was great. They were on time with pick ups and drop offs. Tour guides were great approachable enjoyed their stories. Our Olgas tour was wonderful, plenty drinks and nibbles provided. Highlight of the tour was sunrise at Uluru. Highly recommend AAT Kings.
