Orientation drive through New York City en route to Philadelphia for a city tour focusing on the highlights of this historic city, the “Birthplace of the Nation.” During your free time, you may want to visit the Liberty Bell, National Constitution Center, or enjoy lunch and shopping at the Bourse Food Hall. Continue south to Washington DC, the nation's capital, for a free evening. (B)

All of these names apply equally to the city of Philadelphia where its proud history spans the American Revolution to a major force in modern culture, sports, music, and business. FREE TIME TIPS - EXPLORE MORE: in Philadelphia with a visit to the legendary Liberty Bell, bearing timeless message: "Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land unto all the Inhabitants Thereof" where it rang out from Independence Hall to summon lawmakers to work and the citizenry to gather for news. Pennsylvania's Past & Present

You may wish to join an optional outing to visit the top of the famous CN Tower for great views of Toronto's harbor and skyline while enjoying dinner. (B)

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - NATURAL WONDERS: The famous natural wonder of Niagara Falls consists of three massive waterfalls – American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls – plummeting from the southern end of Niagara Gorge. Spanning the border between Canada's Ontario and America's New York State, the largest of the falls is Horseshoe Falls – also known as the Canadian Falls –which straddles the border of both countries. Organised experiences were well balanced with time on our own to explore as we wished, with guidance from Matt. The hotels were all of a high standard and well situated within easy walking distance to major places of interest.
We were very fortunate to be in an unusually small group of only 16 who all got on well with each other, making the trip that much more enjoyable. Thanks Hannah from Global Journeys who assisted with our booking of this and the Globus tour of the Rockies that we did after it.

The travel group was 40 mainly Australians, with the others from New Zealand, UK and South Africa. Everyone got on well with each other and that also made the trip most enjoyable. We would recommend this tour especially to see the Fall colour in October and will be looking at other Globus tours for 2019.
The pace of the tour was very good, the accommodation was very good with Delta Group Hotels and Lord Elgin being some of the best hotels. The inclusive home-made dinner with the Amish family was one of the best dinners I have ever had. It beat the meals served by the top rated restaurants. The apple pie was so delicious! Bravo to Globus to have made this tour one of the best tours I have done! Thanks to Georgie Walpole of Global Journeys who helped us with the booking, gave us a great discount and ensured the booking was smooth.
