Portugal in Depth 0 Viv , QLD, Australia, Sep 2024
A comprehensive tour with a very knowledgeable guide in Pedro. The whole itinerary was enjoyable. Whilst so many, the cathedrals and castles were stunning and scenery breathtaking. A highlight for me was Porto - it has been my screensaver for several years! A trip not for the faint hearted with cobbled tile pavements and at times challenging steps into

Globus we arrived early and you offered transfers airport to city for A$80 pp each way! The airport was less than 10 kms away and organized transport could be booked for A$40 a car each way - not nice. The group of over 40 was a good one - everyone mixed and proved good company. (GJ. Organised transfers offered by the operator will always be more expensive than local transport options which is why, if tour clients are confident travellers, we recommend catching an Uber or taxis in most cases. Excellent tour from start to finish. Made new friends from California to New Zealand. Accommodations were very good. Learned a lot about the country, did not feel rushed. The Globus coach was very comfortable. Well run tour. Would recommend it to anyone.
Fabulous Portugal trip 9 Nerelle, QLD, Australia, May 2019
Portugal In Depth was an excellent tour. We got to see so much of the country and I just loved it. Everything was quality. The guide was well informed and the coach was new. The hotels were all good as were the meals. A great tour of people. Just couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
Excellent itinerary for a tour around Portugal
10 Marilyn & David, NSW, Australia, Jul 2018 This was a well planned itinerary visiting many places of interest. The hotels were of a very good standard and all were centrally located. The tour guide and driver were excellent and the included meals were of a high standard.
Extensive Trip Through Portugal
29 Cheryle, WA, Australia, Oct 2017 The accommodation throughout was excellent with spacious twin rooms. Breakfasts in all of the hotels was of a good standard. Schedules were all adhered to and the days itinerary was presented and explained to us prior to departure or on the bus as we left for the day. Rui was very concerned with client comfort and went out of his way to point out amenities required along the route and offered a variety of suggestions for our free time. The local city guides were also pleasant and knowledgeable and provided us with plenty of local information, history and anecdotes. Delightful information trip through Portugal 7 Paul & Christine , VIC, Australia, Aug 2017
This is an excellent way to see Portugal. The Tour Guide was very informative, if anything he spoke a little too much. The accommodation was very good some of the hotels were 5 star, not expected for the price of the tour.
The tour was excellent value for money and went at a very comfortable pace.
One of my best tours 10 Lisa, WA, Australia, Aug 2017
Really organised, had a great driver and tour leader and my fellow travellers were great. Saw some absolutely beautiful areas and sights. Dined both on the street and restaurant style. Was really looking forward to Portugal and this tour didn't disappoint.

Overall the tour was very good. The tour guide Rui was excellent - his personality suited the job. He was v knowledgeable, patient and responsive. We enjoyed his company and the group awarded him a medal for his efforts. The hotels were mostly good a couple in Oporto and the Algarve did not have air circulation or air conditioning and we had a few hot

From the itinerary description we thought we would see Sintra (the brochure said Sintra district) but did not which was disappointing. Luckily we stayed on and saw Pena palace etc later. The tour group was larger than we expected but it was very well managed by Rui the tour guide. We enjoyed our holiday. Portugal in Depth is a wonderful way to see Portugal!! 9 Lesley & Eric, QLD, Australia, Jun 2017
Our tour started in Lisbon on 29 June which was a perfect time as the weather was just perfect. We had no rain on our whole trip and saw some amazing places. Our Tour Guide, Uri, was very helpful especially as one of our travellers had a back problem and couldn't visit all the places so Uri just organised for her to rest up at a lovely spot so that

We met some travellers from other parts of Australia, the UK, and America so it was a varied group and the coach was so comfortable and fitted with Wifi so easy to keep in touch with family at home. My favourite place was probably Lagos on the way to the Algarve and we could have just stay there for days and days but unfortunately we had to move on to the Algarve instead which was equally enjoyable too. Enjoyable Globus holiday in Portugal 6 Allison & Douglas, WA, Australia, Jun 2017
We enjoyed our trip travelling around Portugal with Globus. Our hotels were great and centrally located. Our tour guide, Pedro , was very organised and knew when we needed to get to a place early to avoid all the other tour groups. We had many nationalities on our trip, but all good fun to be with (only one other Australian). We particularly liked

A comprehensive journey around Portugal that included all of the major and desired destinations. Highlights of the tour were Porto for all of its treasures, the Night Templar castle at Tomar, and the ghoulish Ossary chapel at St Francis's in Evora. The various stalls selling wax candle models of almost every imaginable human body part and organ to be offered up in one of three ostentatious churches at Fatima is likely to fill you with disbelief, if not disgust, but as an example of MacReligion, upsized, you will find very few other exemplars to upstage it. Be aware that the ratio of wheelchairs to pedestrians is much higher in Fatima.
Hotels were largely comfortable and historically interesting apart from the Mondial in Lisbon and the very tired and smelly Tivoli at Carvoeiro, where I would have gladly given up the stunning ocean view for something more of the general Globus standard. The historic hotels at Viseu and Evora were a special delight. Think about arriving in Lisbon two to three days earlier, as I did. This will enable you to either walk or take a tuk-tuk up to Sao Jorge's castle, spend more time in the old town, visit some interesting museums like the Gulbenkian which has many treasures, and to use the hop off hop on bus to visit other attractions not covered by the short orientation provided by the tour. Overall, I found it a great tour that lets you dip your toes into Portugal and make many discoveries about this lovely little country of ten million people. Another fabulous Globus tour. Tour guide Rita was simply wonderful. Hotels were in great locations and some were absolute jewels, particularly in Evora and Tomar. Time spent on the Algarve was a relaxing way to end the tour in a stunning location. The hotel was in need of a renovation but we were warned that it was not the standard of all our previous accommodations and was chosen for it's beautiful clifftop setting. Meals on the tour were delicious and abundant! All tour members waddled out of our Porto restaurant...a feast to remember! In summary, I would happily recommend this tour as it showcased Portugal's diverse regions in a comfortable and relaxed pace. A big thank you to Hannah of Global Journeys for her timely communications. Always a pleasure to deal with a true professional. I look forward to booking my next adventure with her and the Global Journeys team. A surprising and rewarding tour in many ways 6 Druce Dunne, Australia, Jun 2014
Repacking and moving on can be a bit demanding with a coach tour like this, but Portugal has the advantage of short coach times between stopovers. It proved to be a surprising and rewarding tour in many ways: educative and interesting, as well as enjoyable. Portugal is a small country packed with cultural and historical attractions. They ventured as far as India and Japan before Spain and other European countries. We did all of the optional tours and thoroughly enjoyed them. We wanted to discover Portugal and its history and the tour enabled us to do this: it included all the places we particularly wanted to visit. The tour guide Pedro was very organised and efficient. Our tour guide was Rui Veiga and we could not have had a more knowledgeable and congenial host. His commentaries were excellent and his information often went beyond the usual scope of a tour guide.
