Join a Kubirri Warra clan member on an authentic coastal adventure across the beach, mudflats, and mangroves of their ancestral fishing grounds. Learn about traditional bush medicines and foods and try your hand at throwing a traditional fishing spear! Continue to Mossman Gorge, stroll along trails and elevated boardwalks through the World Heritage Listed rainforest as your driver guide shares stories and insights. Learn about the local Kuku Yalanji people's special relationship with the land here. Return to the Mossman Gorge Center for a tasty lunch infused with local bush flavors at the Mayi Café.
Afterwards, visit Janbal Gallery for an art class with Aboriginal artist Brian ‘Binna' Swindley. Here, learn ancient Dreamtime stories, local history and how these are shared through their art. Create your own unique souvenir to take home with you in the form of a canvas you paint with the guidance of Binna, to tell your own story with techniques you will learn. (FB/L)
Explore Agincourt Reef, at the very outer edge of the Barrier Reef. Here, special reefs known as ‘ribbons' run parallel to the Continental Shelf. Adjacent to the Coral Sea trench, these ribbon reefs are recognised as the most pristine eco-systems in the reef's environment. Clear water provides the best possible underwater visibility, encourages rich coral growth and supports spectacular marine life. Choose to dive, snorkel, or stay dry and explore the stunning reef from the comfort of a Quicksilver semi-sub, just one meter underwater. Watch the fish feeding from Quicksilver's unique underwater viewing platform and underwater observatory. Morning and Afternoon tea on board is included. (FB/L)
