Magnificent Maine

Arrive in Portland and Casco Bay, and enjoy a trolley tour of the city or stroll around the charming waterfront with its many shops, galleries, and boutiques. Taste local specialties created with fresh Maine ingredients, like fresh blueberry pie, sugary potato donuts, or a white chocolate blueberry scone. Maine produces more than 90% of the blueberries sold in the United States and almost 90% of the nation's lobster supply, keeping the working waterfront busy in this quaint seaside town. (B/L/D)

ENHANCED FREE TIME - EXPLORE MORE: Explore independently owned shops and restaurants in the Portland waterfront area or wander the tree-lined streets in the West End neighbourhood filled with Victorian-era homes built by wealthy shipping merchants. New England and Eastern Canada tour 1 , TX, United States, Aug 2022
We just returned from a beautiful motor coach/ cruise ship tour of Boston, New Hampshire, Vermont, Montreal, Quebec, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax and Bar Harbor. Our plans were expertly handled by our Global Journeys travel agent Georgie Walpole, based in Australia. She quickly addressed all of our questions and concerns and made us feel like we ...read more were her only clients. She calmly listened to us and was kind and reassuring when a problem arose halfway through the planning and we were afraid we would have to cancel. She is excellent at her job!

The motor coach beginning of the trip was very fun. We met some very nice fellow travelers and had some very interesting sights to see on the way to Canada. Scott Dworkin was our guide and managed the group of 40 of us expertly. New Hampshire and Vermont were gorgeous and he got us all into Canada safely and arranged for the group to all get Covid tests which were required to get on the cruise ship. The cruise was lovely, with excellent food, very accommodating staff, good entertainment in the evenings and interesting excursions. People we met in the ports were friendly and welcoming. It was overall a very wonderful 12 days!

Booking process was easy with Jemma responding to queries promptly. The coach travel portion was as expected, early starts but getting into destinations early. Some glitches with information not passed on at first hotel in Boston. Accommodation was of good quality, included evening meals of a fair standard. Shelburne museum a great place with plenty ...read more to see. The Tour Director, Hilary, was very knowledgeable and helpful. The ship embarkation and disembarkation was a streamlined process. Ocean view cabins were situated on lower promenade deck and staff helpful. A great variety of food and restaurants to choose, at a price, if didn't feel like eating at the included areas. There were a variety of excursions to choose from if you wanted to see more of the ports. All types of entertainment to cater for most preferences.

Coach and cruise 1 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
We loved our recent trip both by coach and cruise ship. It was fascinating to visit the three beautiful cities of Boston, Montreal and Quebec. The first part on the coach was fast paced, well organised and very well hosted. Our fellow travellers were mainly Americans which was both interesting and delightful to meet such an enthusiastic bunch. The cruise, ...read more as always with Holland America was perfect, great staff, activities and excursions. Smooth waters for the most part too. I would recommend this trip to see a part of the US and Canada not always visited from Australia, especially for lovers of history.

We went on this Eastern Canada trip with Globus in July. Weather was quite hot everywhere. We had a full bus load of people (Canadians, Americans & Australians) & everyday we moved seats. Our guide James was excellent, ensuring things went smoothly. Our accommodation was very good & all beds were very comfortable. Only about half of us continued on ...read more & did the cruise with Holland America on the Maasdam, the cruise was so good. Food was exceptional & drink prices moderate. We even got our laundry done on board, $20 US for as much as you could stuff in the laundry bag. Had a wonderful optional extra to Prince Edward Island to visit the home of "Anne of Green Gables". Georgie at Global Journeys handled our trip booking & she is very efficient & helpful. We had a wonderful holiday, Eastern Canada is beautiful & recommend everyone to visit.
Eastern Canada 2 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2018
Had the best time on the coach part with Globus tours, our tour guide James Saunders was great and had so much info on all parts, and also liked how our pick ups and transfers where done. Would do another tour with them.
