Wonderful tour and cruise 1 , SA, Australia, Oct 2016
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Greece, and especially having the cruise in addition to the land tour, which was well worth the extra time and cost, though you need to pay for the optional excursions to get the most out of the cruise. The coverage of sites was good on the land tour, and the places visited on the cruise were also well chosen. We generally read more didn't get enough free times in places such as the ruins in Delphi to explore them to our satisfaction, but other people on the tour would have found the time long enough; it's hard to please everybody. The boat docking times were generally early in the morning or late afternoon, which meant very early starts in some places (e.g. 7am) and not much daylight in others, especially at this time of year (October). But it was absolutely worthwhile going on the island excursions despite the starting times, and I don't think the cruise could have fit everything into 4 days without doing this. We appreciated having a free day in Athens after the cruise. Had good weather on both land and sea. Thanks to Yvonne and Global Journeys for doing the bookings and packaging our tour with another we took earlier on so we got an extra discount.
Tour guide and Globus on-boat host were both excellent 1 , Australia, Oct 2014
My main comment is about the Globus tour guide and Globus on-boat host - both were excellent but in different ways. The tour guide had an amazing knowledge of the ancient Greek history, whereas the on-boat host was an excellent organiser. Both the land and sea parts of the tour ran perfectly and generally on time. One sour part was an optional dinner read more at the end of the land tour which was not worth what was paid for it. Noisy, poor service, very average meals and lousy wine. The location would have been good apart from this.
