Grand Mediterranean Cruises one way free transfer is not included in children cruise free promotion and is only for first two adults in the booking. All airline charges including taxes and fuel charges and any land/hotel/transfer arrangements including Grand Voyage and Grand Mediterranean transfer are additional charges for children and all extra passengers. Details of all these charges and amounts will be provided by your Cruise Consultant and confirmed at time of booking.
Each guest is responsible for acquiring and presenting all travel documents necessary for boarding the ship in their respective country of embarkation. Documents include a valid passport (valid for six months after the date the cruise ends) and any visas required for the cruise itinerary.
Please note that each guest is also responsible for securing any necessary visas and immunizations.

Unless MSC agrees otherwise and in writing, passengers are limited to bringing two (2) items of such mobility or medical equipment onboard per cabin with a total value not exceeding EUR 2,200. All equipment must be capable of being carried safely and must be declared before the cruise.

Yes. If possible, they should be carried in hand luggage. MSC also advise guests to carry the list of medicines they intend to take on board with them, to allow on-board medical staff to provide assistance in the event of a medical emergency.
All MSC Cruises ships offer a well-equipped Medical Centre, supervised by a doctor and/or medical personnel. Charges apply for all medical services onboard. These charges are displayed in the Medical Centre and will be debited automatically to your onboard account via your Cruise Card. The Medical Centre is open at times advertised in the Daily Program.
Emergency services are available around the clock by calling the Medical Emergency number. While the range of medications held onboard is comprehensive, they may not satisfy your precise needs and for this reason MSC suggest passengers check with their doctor prior to cruising and carry a supply of their own prescribed medicines and relevant documents in their personal luggage where applicable.
Global Journeys and MSC strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy should be considered for the duration of your holiday at your own expense. You can consult your Cruise Consultant regarding your insurance requirements. The travel insurance policy you choose should state that you are fully covered against unexpected cancellation charges, medical expenses, loss of luggage, money or personal liability. A waiver form will be required by MSC Cruises should you decide not to take out travel insurance.
Yes, MSC Cruises and its staff are constantly striving to provide the best service possible for all guests, including those of reduced mobility or disabilities. All on board staff receive special in-house training that sensitizes them to the needs of passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility, and which prepares them to provide any necessary assistance.
Please advise your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor of all special needs at the time of booking. They will provide you with a Special Needs Form. In addition to the Form, a medical certificate confirming that the guest is fit to go on a cruise may be requested.

Properly trained and certified guide dogs are allowed on board, provided they are in good health and have all documents required for entering the countries visited during the cruise. You will be informed in advance about the kind of accommodation provided for the dog, any facilities provided and the procedure for embarking and disembarking. Guests are personally responsible for the custody, feeding and general care of the animal.

Yes, all ships in the MSC fleet contain a number of specially fitted cabins with extra floor space and more room for movement. These cabins should be requested through your Global Journeys Cruise Advisor at the time of booking.
Yes, you can. Scooters must be stored and batteries recharged in your cabin, which is fitted with 110V sockets (US type sockets) and 220V sockets (German type sockets) avoiding to connect when using the hairdryer. Keep in mind that the scooter minimizes the available space within your cabin.
Due to safety considerations, wheelchairs and scooters cannot be stored in the corridors. Your personal scooter should be able to fit in a standard cabin with a limited entry doorway (58 cm / 22.8" on MSC Divina and MSC Armonia, 68 cm/ 26.7" on MSC Lirica, MSC Sinfonia and MSC Opera, 62 cm / 24.4" on the others). If your scooter is larger than the dimension reported for your chosen ship, you should book an H stateroom or rent a smaller scooter.
Segways and other similar vehicles cannot be operated on board. They shall be confiscated and can be taken off the ship to be used while in port.
Also please note that the aluminium gangways used if the ramp cannot be operated are less than 80 cm / 31.5" wide.
Wheelchairs are available on all ships in the MSC Cruises fleet, for use during embarking and disembarking or in the event of an emergency.
Travel documents will be emailed or sent to you or your agent after final payment has been received and usually 3-4 weeks prior to your departure date. Automatic e-documents can be sent to you 40 days prior to cruise departure if all payments are made and a signed Booking Form or online web check in has been completed.
Documents will only be released once a fully completed Booking Form/Web check-in and all payments and fees have been received. Once online Web Check-in is completed you must print out and take the Web Check-In Receipt with your documents to hand over at your check-in for a speedier embarkation.
For Cruises in the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Arabian Peninsula and West Indies, the onboard currency is Euro. For cruises in the Caribbean, South America and South Africa the onboard currency is USD.

All on board purchases are made with the personal cruise card, eliminating the need to carry cash or credit cards on board. To activate purchasing with the Cruise Card, guests must either register their credit or debit card at the check-in or onboard at the Cruise Card Activation Points (only available on certain ships), or by leaving a cash deposit at the Reception - Guest Service immediately after embarkation.
For children aged 12 up to 17 years parents can also purchase a "Teen Card" per child which also acts as an identity card, cabin key and enables younger guests to enjoy some freedom onboard. Parents just complete a form provided at check-in, hand it to the Receptionist in the foyer of the cruise ship as you board.

Shore excursions offered by MSC Cruises can either be pre-purchased and pre-paid prior to final payment, or booked online through MSC's 'Manage Your Booking' page and paid by credit card, once you have your booking number.
The shore excursion price includes transport, visits to sites and/or museums, meals and drinks as detailed in the description of each shore excursion. Excursion programming and timings (departure/return) will be confirmed onboard during the cruise.
Grand Voyage Cruises include shore excursions dependent on the cruise itinerary and price chosen. These are set shore excursions which cannot be altered or replaced with other shore excursions of similar value. Non-attendance on these included shore excursions is considered a no-show and no refund will be provided.
MSC Yacht Club passengers can contact their 24-hour concierge and organize to enjoy personalized shore excursions via chauffeur-driven limousines, hire car or mini bus at a surcharge price subject to reservation and availability at time of booking.

A traditional English High Tea is served daily in the Top Sail lounge or in your suite.

MSC Cruises paper baggage labels are provided with your e-documents. For more than one cruise you will receive additional paper baggage labels which need to be affixed at the commencement of each cruise and when changing cruise ships or cabins. We also recommend personal or airline baggage labels be affixed to your luggage prior to departure from Australia or New Zealand.
Prior to reaching the cruise terminal, guests are advised to label their luggage using the tags received with your cruise ticket, and hand it to MSC staff at the terminal. Luggage will be delivered directly to your cabin shortly after embarkation.
Two days before the end of each cruise, guests receive the disembarkation procedures and luggage tags directly to their cabin. Please leave labelled luggage outside the cabin door the night before disembarking. Your luggage will be collected and delivered directly into the terminal building during disembarkation.

For security reasons, passengers and/or their luggage may be searched each time they board the ship. Any articles that the cruise company deems potentially dangerous to the passengers, the crew and/or the vessel, will be held in custody while the passenger is onboard.
Ship's security will scan all hand-carried luggage when you board in all ports. If bottles of alcohol are detected they will request these are handed to the ship's personnel at the gangway, who will issue a receipt and store the bottles safely for you. You can retrieve them from security/reception at the end of the cruise. Valuable luggage travels at the guests' own risk.
MSC Cruises, its employees and agents accept no responsibility for loss, damage or theft of guests' luggage or personal effects. MSC Cruises' responsibility with respect to lost, damaged, or undelivered luggage is explained in the Passenger Contract. In the event of loss or damage to luggage or personal effects, a representative of MSC Cruises should be immediately notified. Otherwise insurance must be taken out with MSC Cruises.
Lightweight, loose clothing, sunscreen and head covering are ideal for daytime. For informal evenings, MSC recommend casual dresses for women and a lightweight jacket for men. For formal evenings, gala dinners or Captain's cocktail parties, a cocktail dress for the ladies and lightweight or dark suit or dinner jacket for the men is recommended. There are usually at least 2-3 gala or formal evenings per cruise. Throughout the cruise (day or night) there maybe theme parties, including 60s, floral, white or Italian parties. Dressing in theme is not compulsory. Please note there are no shops onboard to purchase, make or hire theme costumes or dinner suits. The dress of the day is published in the Daily Program.
A sweater or shawl is handy for unexpected changes in temperature or air-conditioning from interior to the exterior of the ship. Cruising in the cooler months in any destination may require a rain or heavier jacket and an umbrella. For excursions including visits to sacred or religious sites MSC advise appropriate clothing or covering (covered knees, heads and/or shoulders, no low-cut tops or short shorts).
A laundry service is available onboard for a nominal fee. There is no self-serve laundry facilities on any of the ships.
Heat-generating devices including irons & hair irons, electric kettles, bottle warmers, electric blankets etc are not allowed onboard.
MSC uses six main languages for its communication onboard: English, Italian, German, French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. The order in which these languages are spoken or appear is determined exclusively by the number of guests in each language group onboard compared to the total number of guests.
The Daily Program and other printed material used onboard are available in different versions of the six languages above. The order of languages used in menus changes depending on the area of the world in which the ship is cruising.

Oceanview cabins have these amenities plus a porthole. Balcony cabins will offer these amenities but may have a shower or a bath and also have a balcony.

All ships feature a Mini Club for children from 3 to 6 years old; Juniors Club from 7 to 11; Young Club from 12 to 14; and Teens Club from 15 to 17 years. Additionally, babies from 6 months to 3 years old can play at the Mini Club with their parents and follow the MSC Babytime programme. Parents can leave babies between 1 and 3 years old with the youth staff at the Mini Club and enjoy the MSC Babycare playing activities. All children can be signed up to the Clubs at no cost.
